At the end of May, Proxiad Bulgaria certified Class 2020 for their successful completion of the Internship Program within the company. Since 2011 Proxiad Bulgaria has onboarded more than 40 interns and continuously improves the program to provide more opportunities for the young talents entering the IT sector

The essence of a successful Internship Program
The whole cycle of the program lasts 6 months. During the first half, the interns go through intense theoretical part where they learn the technology stack, including but not limited to: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate, SOAP and REST web services, ReactJS, unit and integration testing, etc. In the next 3 months the trainees enter the second phase of the program where they need to put all they learned into practice.
The studying process is divided into iterations of 2 weeks. Every intern has an appointed mentor and a buddy. The mentor is a senior expert at Proxiad Bulgaria who evaluates the intern performance after the completion of every iteration. The buddy, on the other hand, is a recent graduate from the same Internship program who supports the trainee on daily basis.
The Internship Program is paid from the beginning. After its successful completion, the trainees have the opportunity to sign a permanent contract for a full-time employment at Proxiad Bulgaria.
Proxiad and the Bulgarian education
The company maintains strong relationships with the local universities. In the last four years Proxiad Bulgaria has provided practical learnings for 80 students. The most experienced members of the team teach Web Programming Basics with Java and JavaScript, and Test Automation with Java at the Plovdiv University – Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. The company is also well known among students at the Technical University – Sofia for its Proxihub – a software lab, equipped and financed by the organization.
Since this year, Proxiad Bulgaria is also an official partner with the High School of Mathematics “Kiril Popov” whereas students from 10th and 11th degrade will complete their mandatory internship within the company.
The Internship Program and COVID-19
Despite of the national lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Proxiad Bulgaria continued the internship program by digitalizing the whole process remotely. This as well included the whole celebration ceremony which by tradition is done at the office. The graduates received their certificates at their homes and were honored by the leadership team in an online ceremony.
The vast majority of the graduates who passed the program in the last nine years are still with the company and they continue to develop their IT careers till today.
