PlovDev Was Held Online for the First Time in its 8 Year History
Last week, the 8th edition of PlovDev IT conference took place. Until now, the event has been most popular among the IT community in Plovdiv, but this year it expanded its reach.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, PlovDev 2020 was held entirely online, split into two consecutive days. This allowed more IT professionals to attend from any part of the country.
The topics of this year’s edition were focused on the innovations in the tech world. Participants were able to learn more about Digital twins, Blazor WASM framework, WebRTC and SIP technologies, immerse themselves in the world of computer graphics and virtual fantasy. The digital transformation of the event also aroused international interest, as for the first time there was a foreign guest speaker from the French company CSN Energy.
Another new addition was the variety of coding challenges and ruffles in which the attendees had the opportunity to participate. The winners left with different prizes, such as vouchers for online stores, backpacks, Xiaomi Body Builder and Nintendo, as well as the grand prize of Proxiad Bulgaria – DJI MAVIC MINI COMBO drone.
The conference was supported by companies well known to the Bulgarian and international markets. Gold sponsors of the event were Progress and Chaos Group, and the Silver ones – Uber and MentorMate. PlovDev was popularized by the media partners of Proxiad: JobTiger, SoftUni, Dev.bg, Tuk-tam, AIBEST and ICT Cluster Burgas.
As in previous years, the conference was held entirely non-profit, where attendees could order a PlovDev T-shirt with a cause. All gathered funds will be donated to the WeCare Foundation for the purchase of packages of goods distributed to registered families in which one or both parents have lost their jobs due to the crisis.

PlovDev is an IT conference organized by Proxiad Bulgaria. The event is named after the city of Plovdiv and is the largest IT conference there.
