The 11th edition of PlovDev presented new horizons in technology and exciting meetings with experts
This Saturday, November 25th, one of the most exciting events for the IT community in Plovdiv – the city under the hills took place – PlovDev 2023. The conference, aimed at uniting professionals and companies in the field of information technology around a noble cause, was live at the Arena IMAX cinema, Markovo Tepe Mall.
PlovDev, the annual IT conference with a charitable mission in Plovdiv, returned to its traditional Live format, offering the community a rich program in the field of new technologies and opportunities for discussions with lecturers and business representatives. The amount raised from tickets and sponsor packages, totaling over 14,500 BGN, will support the Natural Sciences Olympic Teams Association (NSOTA).
The event was organized by Proxiad SEE for the 11th consecutive year, returning to its traditional format under the slogan “Back to the roots”. The organizers presented a program of 7 lectures and a panel discussion dedicated to AI. The topics that captured the audience’s attention were related to the anatomy of blockchain, telemedicine, digital healthcare, cybersecurity, and more. The discussion among the experts on stage unfolded the topic of the role of AI in practice and looked at its advantages, risks, and applications. The panelists expressed their belief that technology can be considered as Assisted Intelligence, as it is a tool that facilitates activities without replacing the human factor.
During the breaks, conference guests visited the stands of partner companies, exchanged knowledge and contacts, and discussed opportunities for implementation and partnerships. The interest in their representatives in the expo area confirmed the added value of PlovDev for the city’s IT community, providing specialized and up-to-date information, as well as networking opportunities.
Proxiad SEE shared that the noble cause has always had a central place in the event planning: since its first edition over 10 years ago, the conference has been held entirely with a charitable mission. In 2023, the funds raised from tickets and sponsorships exceed 14,500 BGN and will be donated to support the Natural Sciences Olympic Teams Association (NSOTA).
On the day of the conference, the executive director of the association, Valkan Gоranov, expressed his gratitude to everyone who donated their funds and time to make PlovDev 2023 happen.
“We don’t produce medalists, we primarily produce good people who accumulate knowledge, and that brings them the medals,” he quoted one of the teachers who work daily with young people to turn them into winners. He talked about the achievements and dedication of Bulgarian Olympians, who have won a total of 82 medals in international Olympiads, European and Balkan competitions in natural sciences just this year.
