Harness the power of .NET with Proxiad SEE to build reliable, flexible, and future-ready applications that seamlessly integrate with modern enterprise ecosystems.
client overview
Our client is a French-owned digital publishing software provider whose SaaS platform lets businesses turn print catalogues, brochures, and reports into interactive digital publications with no coding required.
A companion tool of theirs helps sales teams build and send personalized commercial proposals. Customers span product-driven industries – retail, cosmetics, automotive, aviation and more – many publishing catalogues on a weekly or monthly cycle.
Proxiad SEE has worked with the client since 2012, when the engagement started with native app development for one of the client’s subsidiaries. Over time, it grew into a dedicated team owning core parts of the web publishing platform.
The Challenge
In 2016, a restructuring in the client’s business led to the team refocusing on the web publishing platform and website development – and that’s been the core of the engagement ever since.
Beyond that transition, the platform itself needed modernizing: the admin interface still ran on Flash, and the backend was built on SOAP-based services that made it harder to build a fast, modern front end. Publication volume was also climbing quickly through the mid-2010s, with customers spread across multiple continents, so serving everyone with low latency meant thinking about an infrastructure expansion.
Later on, new EU accessibility regulations added another requirement: a way to produce accessible versions of publications without extra manual work for customers.
The Solution
Long-term Dedicated Team
Proxiad SEE has kept an embedded team on this project for over a decade. Two of its members have been with it for more than 11 years, moving across different roles as the platform evolved; a full-stack Java/React developer joined in 2023 to grow front-end capacity that had previously been outsourced.
Platform Modernization
The Flash-based admin interface was rebuilt in React, and the backend moved from SOAP to REST services to support it – part of an ongoing modernization that’s also taken the Java runtime from version 6 to 8.
Core Platform Build-Out
The team built and continues to run the SaaS platform’s core features: converting printable catalogues into digital publications, no-code enrichment tools, mobile optimization, a WYSIWYG editor for catalogues and proposals, integrated online payments, and a credits-based billing system.
Infrastructure That Follows Demand
Server capacity was added across multiple locations and continents as the international customer base grew, keeping publication content fast to load for customers regardless of where they’re accessing it from.
AI-driven features
Two recent additions make content production faster and easier. First, clients can generate an accessible version of any publication with a single click, automatically tested against relevant accessibility standards. Second, built-in generative AI tools for images and video enable customers – particularly retailers producing catalogues on a weekly basis – to create richer, more engaging product visuals without relying on dedicated design resources.
Delivery Model
The team now works flexibly rather than on fixed sprints – agreeing on goals and tasks, then working through them until done. Larger features get bundled into a full release with a version bump across all products; smaller changes ship in between as hotfixes with incremented sub-versions.
The result
- Continuous partnership since 2012
- Annual publication volume grew from 158 in 2013 to 5,851 in 2025 – roughly 37x
- Average monthly output rose from 13/month in 2013 to 488/month in 2025
- Two team members have delivered on the project for 11+ years
- Average monthly output rose from 13/month in 2013 to 488/month in 2025
